Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 8, 2026
Bumper Ghosts is a party game for phones and tablets. We keep it lightweight — no accounts, no ads, and no tracking. This policy explains the little data the game does handle, and why.
This document is provided as-is for an independent hobby game and is not legal advice. It should be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before it is relied upon or submitted to any app store.
1. The short version
Bumper Ghosts — Crown Crash is a kids-friendly party game made by an independent developer. It is built to be private by default:
- No account and no sign-up. You never give us a name, email, phone number, or password to play.
- No ads and no advertising trackers.
- No analytics or tracking SDKs (no Firebase, Sentry, Google Analytics, or similar) are built into the game or this website.
- Your player profiles stay on your device.
- We do not sell your information or use it to build an advertising profile of you.
2. Who we are
Bumper Ghosts — Crown Crash (“the game,” “we,” “us”) is developed and operated by an individual developer. You can reach us any time at mkteagle@gmail.com. If you are a parent or guardian with a question about your child’s use of the game, please use that same address.
3. Information stored on your device
When you play, the game saves a few things locally on your device only — they are not sent to us:
- Player profiles: a display name you choose (or an auto-generated one like “Player 1”) and your ghost’s cosmetic look (color, eyes, hem, and skin).
- In-game coins and unlocked cosmetics: a play-money balance and the list of cosmetic items you’ve unlocked. These have no real-world value and cannot be bought with real money.
- Settings: preferences such as sound on/off.
This data lives in your device’s standard app storage. Several people (for example, kids sharing one iPad) can each keep their own local profile. We never see or collect any of it.
4. Game Center (optional)
If you choose to sign in to Apple’s Game Center, the game can submit your round score to a “Round Points” leaderboard and show that leaderboard to you. Game Center is operated by Apple, not by us. Whether you appear on a leaderboard, and what name is shown there, is controlled by your Apple ID and Game Center settings and is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. Game Center is entirely optional — the game is fully playable without it, and you can turn it off in your device settings.
5. Online multiplayer
Online multiplayer is optional. When you host or join an online room, the game connects to our game server so players can see each other in real time. In that case:
- The game sends the display name you’re playing under so other players in your room can see who’s in the match.
- The server issues a short-lived, anonymous session token and a random session id for your connection. These identify a temporary game session — not you as a person — and are not tied to any account, email, or real identity.
- While a round is running, gameplay data (your ghost’s position, movement, score, and room code) is exchanged with the server so the match stays in sync.
We use this information only to run live matches. We do not use it to identify you, we do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising. If you only play solo or local pass-and-play, the game does not need to contact the server at all.
6. Children’s privacy (COPPA)
Bumper Ghosts is designed to be suitable for children and the whole family. It requires no personal information to play: no name that identifies a real person, no email, no phone number, and no account.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your region). The game contains no advertising and no behavioral tracking. If you believe a child has somehow provided us with personal information, or you are a parent who would like to ask a question or request deletion, please contact us at mkteagle@gmail.com and we will respond promptly.
7. Third parties we rely on
We keep outside services to a minimum. The ones involved are:
- Apple — for the App Store, TestFlight, and (if you opt in) Game Center. Apple’s handling of your data is covered by Apple’s own privacy policy.
- Our game-server hosting provider — a cloud host that runs the real-time multiplayer server. It processes connection data only for as long as needed to route your live match.
- Our website hosting provider — this website is served by a standard web host. Like most web hosts, it may keep basic server logs (such as IP address and request time) for security and reliability. This website itself sets no advertising or analytics cookies.
8. Data retention and deletion
Because your profiles, coins, and settings are stored locally, you are in control: deleting the app removes that data from your device. You can also delete an individual profile from within the game.
Multiplayer session tokens and room state are temporary and expire when your match ends; we don’t maintain long-term player records tied to your identity. If you have any question about data associated with your use of the game, email mkteagle@gmail.com.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change how the game handles data, we’ll update this page and revise the effective date above. Significant changes will be reflected here before they take effect. Your continued use of the game after an update means you accept the revised policy.
